The 3rd graders embarked on a fun and creative research project, where they first learned about famous people from history. They used books and online resources to gather facts and details about their chosen individual, taking notes on their accomplishments, major contributions, and important events in their life. After completing their research and writing a biography about their famous person, the students then turned their focus to the artistic side of the project: creating a potato head that resembled their famous person. Using materials like markers, construction paper, and various craft supplies, they carefully designed a potato character that captured the look and spirit of the person they had studied. The final result was a blend of creativity, research, and hands-on fun!
Questions to ask a third graders:
1. Who was the famous person you chose and why are they famous?
2. What materials did you use to create a potato head resembling their famous person?

8th grade FACS paired with Kindergarten to hand sew some monsters. The kindergarteners drew a picture of a monster and answered some questions about their monster. Then, the 8th graders sewed their monster and wrote a short story to go with it. Since March is reading month, the 8th graders spent time this morning reading the kindergarteners their story! This project was loved by all.
A couple of questions for these kids could be: what does your monster look like? What was your story about?
