It's that time of year again and one of our most favorite days! Mrs. Schlafmann and Mr. Ziebarth went to welcome their new Kindergartners to TL-M and bring them their yard sign! We saw lots of smiling faces who are ready for their first day of school. This year we got to see every student and meet some of their special pets! We can't wait to see them on August 18th for their first day of Kindergarten!!🖍️✂️

We are excited to welcome back Mrs. Christensen to TL-M!
My name is Darcy Christensen and will be teaching first grade this fall at TL-M. My husband Brent and I live and farm north of Mercer with our three kids; Jonas, Case and Lily. My favorite things to do are read, shop and travel!
I have taught elementary grades off and on since 2001 in St. Paul, Bismarck, and Turtle Lake. I am looking forward to a return to the classroom and am grateful for the opportunity to teach again!

The next teacher we would like to welcome is Mr. Jordan Sundquist!
I was raised here in Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake - Mercer high school in 2010. I have a degree in Electrical Linework and Secondary Education. I have spent the last 11 years in Idaho teaching social studies and coaching multiple sports. I now have the opportunity to come back home and teach at Turtle Lake - Mercer high school and look forward to the upcoming school year.

Our next teacher we get to introduce is Mr. Miral!
Kumusta, my new Family - TLM School!
I have been teaching Mathematics for 13 years. I choose to teach math because it equips students with critical thinking and problem solving skills that are essential in both academic and real-life situations...I enjoy helping students overcome challenges in Math because it can boost their confidence and open up future opportunities in various fields. Seeing my students succeed in their lives is my greatest happiness...
When not in school, I like to adventure in the beauty of nature, especially exploring oceans and mountains....I love farming too...that is why exploring North Dakota is a dream come true....

As we look forward to a new school year, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new staff. Welcome to TL-M, Miss Weiand!
Hello TL-M community! My name is Miss Alicia Weiand (soon to be Mrs. Sannes come May 2026). I am the new Special Education teacher for the area. I was born and raised in Mandan, where I then spent my first three years of teaching at the high school special education level. My fiancé Jack and I will reside in Washburn where his family owns the funeral home. When I am not at school you can catch me hanging out with our dogs Dani and Remi, going to local events, volunteering, or embroidering dish towels. I come to TL-M this fall ready to help make progressive change and help advocate for all students needs. I look forward to meeting everyone in the community.
