On Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 at 9:00 AM, Turtle Lake-Mercer School will be hosting the Bridge Building/Breaking Contest in the Ed Rath Auditorium. Mrs. Cullum has coordinated this event for many TL-M Students over the years. Mrs. Cullum is retiring at the end of this school year as our long time high school math teacher so this will be her last time hosting this wonderful event. This event will be open to the public. Feel free to join us at TL-M School for a fun morning.

4th grade is continuing the study of energy. We tested different positions on a ramp, different size steel balls, and set up collisions to see the transfer of energy. 
What is potential energy? What effect do mass and ramp position have on speed? What happened when the ball hit the cork?

Salary: Based on the TL-M Negotiated Agreement. Individuals will be placed according to experience and qualifications. 
Additional $5,000 FFA contract and up to 20-day summer contract based on placement on the salary schedule. 
Benefits: Full health insurance plan including $2,600 Health Savings Account, Model I TFFR, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth.
15 sick days, 3 personal days with 3 flex days.

The 62nd Annual Masonic Scholarship Banquet will be held on April 28, 2025 in Washburn at the Memorial Hall. Congratulations to all students that have earned this distinction this year. Students will receive tickets to the event at school.  
Special congratulations goes out to the seniors who earned this award all four years in high school. Bjorn Anderson, Cole Makeeff, Karson Rust, and Charlotte Wilson all earned their 4th recognition this year.

Mrs. O'Shea's Earth Science students have been learning how volcanic landscapes form. They have been building their own model of a volcano in lab. They had the opportunity to make their volcano erupt.

Mr. Vasbinder's 7th grade is working on their presentation skills. Ask your kids what their topic is and what they have learned about it so far.

5th grade had a root beer float party in music today as a prize for winning “Staff Wars” against 4th and 6th grade. The 4th, 5th, and 6th grade have been competing on identifying the treble clef staff notes all month. In the end 5th grade got the highest score. Something to ask your 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student is: How many lines and spaces does the music staff have? What are the note names of the lines in the treble clef staff? What are the note names of the spaces of the treble clef staff?

Today the 6th graders attended Scrubs Camp at Northland Health Center in Turtle Lake. They learned about the dental field, nursing, giving shots, chiropractic field, being a surgery tech, a medical lab tech, and learning how to cope with stress. A HUGE thank you, Northland Health Centers, for hosting this amazing event.  
Questions to ask these students: What health career most interested you? What was your favorite activity of the day? 









FACS 8 Kicked off their cooking unit with a fruit smoothie lab. They learned about safe food handling, foodborne illnesses, food safety, how to use a blender, and nutrition information about fruit this week. A couple of questions for these students are: What ingredients went into your fruit smoothie? What was your lab job for this lab? What were your lab responsibilities? How did the lab turn out?






Mrs. Volochenko's Kindergarten is learning about plants and living things. They started a kindergarten greenhouse with grass seed!
