Our Student Council will be hosting a Veteran’s Day program (open to the public) beginning at 12:45 p.m., Friday, November 12, in our gymnasium to honor those who have served in the military. Grace Goven will be playing Taps (named by Congress in 2012 as the National Song of Remembrance). Her performance will be followed by a flag-folding ceremony conducted by Miss Ziebarth’s sixth-grade students, after which we will enjoy a program entitled “Letters From Home,” a memoir by ND Federal Jury Administrator Candy Schafer. Veterans in attendance will be invited to an ice cream social afterwards.

Some questions you can ask about today’s nonmetal lesson are: Which special groups are included in the nonmetal group? What kind of bonds do nonmetals usually form?

Jim Upgren from ND DPI was at the school this afternoon teaching students about the updates for the ND CTE and Academic Scholarships. Questions to ask these students: if you earn a D in Algebra II do you qualify for the scholarship? What is the minimum GPA required to receive the Academic or CTE scholarship? How many credits of CTE courses does a student need in order to qualify for the CTE scholarship? Reminder, Jim is giving the same presentation to parents tonight at 5:30 at the school. Hope to see you there!
