PreK has started learning the letters of the alphabet. This week they read a story called The Big Box an ABC Book. In the story, some kids get a big box and go through a bunch of different ideas of what they could make with the box. One idea for each letter of the alphabet! Today PreK found a big box and came up with their own ideas. They voted and decided to make a cave! Questions to ask: What other things could you make from a box? What letter does cave start with?

Today in Mrs. Slavik’s class the third graders talked about what it means to be a bucket filler versus a bucket dipper. They participated in a bag sort activity where they had to decide if different scenarios were filling others buckets or dipping into others buckets. After the lesson, they were given a kindness BINGO challenge so they can practice their bucket filling skills! Questions to ask your students include: 1: What does it mean to be a bucket filler? 2: What does it mean to be a bucket dipper? 3: Why is it important to be kind?

The 7th Graders in Mrs. Buchholz’s FACS class have been learning about child development and babysitting. After learning about the ages and stages of children, they worked with a partner to create an original game or toy. Some questions to ask them would be: What is your game or toy? What age group is your game or toy for? How much would you sell your game or toy for?

Today in 3rd grade, they worked with partners to “act out” their vocabulary words! Each team was assigned a word and then worked together to come up with actions and words for their word. They wrote what they thought the word was on their white boards. This was a fun way to add some context and real life situations to their vocabulary words.  See if your students can define the words: Practicing, tumbled, classmate, pronounce, scared, contribute, community, admires.
