Today in 3rd grade, we had a fun activity to go with our focus this week which is main idea and key supporting details of a story.
Students filled “Main Idea Bags” at home. Their bags contained items that were the key details to support the main idea of their bags. We worked with partners to examine the bags and determine the main idea and then had to explain how the key details support the main idea. After discussing each bag we tried to guess whose bag it was!
Ask your student about the 2 bags they looked in. Have them explain the main idea of the bag based only the items inside.
