High School FACS students paired with the Kindergarten class on a project. The high school students helped their kindergarten partners draw a monster and interviewed them about their monsters. They then went back to class, sewed their monsters, and wrote a story to go with them. Today, the kindergarten students received their monsters and story book and everyone had a great time!
Mrs. Christensen's fifth grade is reading the novel The Tiger Rising. Each corner of their classroom has a different comprehension question on Fridays that they discuss with their group. If you see a fifth grader, ask them to tell you about this novel and who their favorite character is so far!

There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all students, and a parent, who are participating in Trap Shooting this spring. The meeting will be held on Sunday, February 26th at 5:00 p.m. at the Turtle Lake Wildlife Club.
Mrs. Laib's English 11 class conducted Character Autopsies today as part of their novel study of Until They Bring the Streetcars Back. Questions to ask: 1) What is the book about? 2) Who are the main characters? 3) What are some of the 'parts' of their characters you wrote about?

Mrs. Schumann's 6th graders have just finished learning about genetics and heredity. They made a delicious candy DNA model. Questions to ask these students: What does DNA stand for? How do the 4 bases in DNA match up on the double helix?

Miss Anderson says, "I love teaching because I enjoy working with kids! I like getting to know them and helping them learn new things."
Mrs. Anderson says, "My love for teaching came later in life, but it came in loud and clear! I decided to get my sub license in 2018 because I liked the idea of the flexibility. In the fall of 2019, I was asked to sub full-time in kindergarten and by October, I knew that I had found my calling. I love teaching because I can make a difference every. single.day! I love that I learn and grow every day! I love looking at the face of a student who just realizes he/she finally understands whatever skill we've been working on all week. That "aha" moment that is instantly recognizable by the look on their faces. I take my responsibilty, as a teacher, very seriously and consider it an honor to be able to be part of each of my students' lives! They teach me every day too! Teaching makes me better across all areas of my life! My only regret is that I didn't discover my passion for teaching much sooner!"
Good morning! I have been out checking roads this morning across our district and they are clear. Some gravel roads and yards may have drifting so buses will run where possible. We will be starting on time today. Doors open at 8:00!
Mrs. Anderson says, "I love the Kids! They can be so funny some days. I also love being creative and finding fun ways to learn new things. Then watching the kids grow and learn and that moment when we’ve been working on something new or challenging and its like the light bulb comes on and they get it! I love that look of accomplishment in their eyes!"
