On Tuesday, March 7th there will be a softball open gym in McClusky from 3:45 - 6:00 for all 7th - 12th graders who are going out for softball this year. There will also be a volleyball interest and planning meeting at 3:20 in Mrs. Philbrick's room via Google Meet for all incoming 9th - 12th graders who are interested in going out for volleyball in the fall of 2023.

1st and 2nd grade did an instrument petting zoo today in music class. They sorted instruments into categories such as skin, wood, metal, and pitched. Then they rotated to each station and got to play the instruments. Ask your students: What instruments did you play in music today? What category do they belong to?






Mrs. Anderson's 3rd grade is finishing up their social studies unit on economy. Their final project is to plan a weeks worth of meals (supper) and try to stay within a $100 budget. Students are working with partners to look through grocery store sales flyers so they can plan each day’s meal. When they are done, we will see who was able to stay within their budget and students will discuss why were or were not successful. They will also talk about changes we could make to stay within the budget. Thanks to Farrah and Main Street Market for the sales flyers!

The Book Fair is coming to TL-M March 6-21! There will be no Lego Club during the book fair. Stop by before and after school or during Parent-Teacher Conferences on March 21st to add some new books to your shelves!


Schedule Change: the JH BBB game against Garrison scheduled for Friday, March 3rd, has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 2nd, starting at 4:00 PM in Underwood. The game will be 6 quarters.

Mrs. Schumann says, "I love learning and I want to extend that love of learning onto my students. I enjoy showing students new concepts and guiding them to understanding those concepts. Watching their faces light up when that hard concept isn't as hard as they once thought it was. I enjoy them understanding why mastering one concept makes others so much easier."


Region 5 Boys' Basketball Bracket. Central McLean will play Max on Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00 in Underwood. Good Luck, Cougars!!
NDHSAA sets the guidelines and admission for all Region games. Admission will be $5 per student and $10 per adult. NO passes will be accepted.

Mr. Vasbinder's seventh graders sharpened their presentation skills this week. Turns out public speaking is hard, even in front of people you know, but with practice it gets easier! You can ask these students what their topic was and how they made their slideshows.




Mrs. Freeman's 2nd grade practiced their spelling words in shaving cream today! Questions to ask your student: 1. How do you spell bear? 2. How do you spell hair?

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 a special school election will be held at the Turtle Lake-Mercer School, McLean County, North Dakota to vote on the question of whether or not to approve a change in “Article VI-Provisions of Plan”, “C- Concerning the School District and the School Board”, of the Reorganization Plan for the Turtle Lake-Mercer Public School District No. 72, as amended in 2015, with one of the following options to be approved:
OPTION 1: THE DISTRICT SHALL BE A PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH A SCHOOL BOARD CONSISTING OF FIVE (5)) MEMBER ELECTED BY THE VOTERS AT LARGE FOR 3 YEAR TERMS.
OPTION 2: NO CHANGE TO THE REORGANIZATION PLAN AS AMENDED IN 2015
Polls Hours: Polls will be open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM.
