Today the 7th Grade Family and Consumer Science Class made breakfast sandwiches! Some questions for these students are:
-What are the beginning of class lab procedures?
-How did you cook your egg?
-Who had what kitchen jobs and what do they all do?
-What do you cook next?




Mrs. Freeman's 2nd grade has been working on making plays in writing and presented their plays. They made their background, characters, and created a storyline. They were so fun and entertaining to watch! Questions to ask: 1. What background and characters did you create? 2. What was your story like?






Mrs. Christensen's Pre-K, with help from their 6th grade friends, made bird feeders. Today they hung them outside to give the birds a winter treat. Ask them what they used to make the feeders and the name of their older friend who helped!





Today Caitlin showed 2nd & 3rd grade real teeth that had not been taken care of and talked about what students need to do to take care of them. They also got to practice being dentists and hygienist and put sealants on some teeth!

4th Grade Living Ag Classroom What was your favorite booth? What are some crops grown in ND?








3rd grade just learned 16th notes in music. They learned a poem called “Peanut Butter Pie” that had 16th notes in it. They then created their own melody to the poem on xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels. Here is a video of their performance.

The 6th graders got the amazing opportunity to visit the Rust Mountain View Ranch to see the animals and watch bull auction sale. The class learned about cattle business and walked out to observe the bulls and heifers. Many picked out their favorite bull or heifer to watch. The auction was the most exciting part of the day, listening and watching bidders bid! Thanks to the Rust family for inviting us to their sale!
Question to ask these students:
What is the difference between commercial and purebred cattle?
What does it mean to be a yearling?
What qualities to you look for in a bull or heifer?








Thank you to everyone who donated during the Dollars for Scholars phoneathon on Monday night. Juniors and Seniors made calls and received pledges for $9,540. Great job callers and a huge thank you to the community for supporting scholarship opportunities for our students.





The TL-M Music Department is doing a Valentine's Day Fundraiser. Orders are due Monday, February 12th. Forms are being sent home with students today, can be found in the front office, and are available on our website. Treats will be delivered to the students on February 14th! Mrs. Schumann's 6th graders are finishing a chapter on Ancient Egypt. They made Egyptian masks! Questions to ask these students: What steps did you take to make your mask? If you were a pharaoh, what would your "Claim to Fame" be?

The Turtle Lake-Mercer School will be hosting a FAFSA Presentation on January 31st from 4-5:30 PM in the School Library. A representative from Bank of North Dakota is coming to go over all the FAFSA form updates, changes on how to complete the form, and how to create a FSA ID.
