Happy Spring Break! Just a few reminder for when we return on March 18th:
Elementary volleyball starts practice in McClusky after school, coach Schneider will be taking a mini bus.
Elementary boys' basketball will have practice in Turtle Lake after school.
Baseball and softball also begin practice in Turtle Lake, these students must have a sports physical and pay the $40 activity fee to the school office.

The 7th Grade Math class did an activity on "Discovering Pi " in honor of March 14--Pi Day.

TL-M students got to participate in a school-wide reading time in the gym today! Thank you to all the high school students that read to our younger students!
4th Grader, Emry Fiedler, is the new TLM Pi Champ. She memorized and recited 164 decimals of the irrational number Pi. The previous champion was Joey Cherry with 150 decimals in 2005 as a 7th grader. Miya Smalls and Kaia Anderson recited 100 decimals as seniors in 2020.
TL-M students participated in the Region 2 Academic Olympics on Friday, March 8th at Bottineau High School.
Mrs. Freeman's 2nd grade has been learning about graphs and reading data from graphs. Today they came up with their own survey and surveyed the kindergarteners. They also presented their data to their classmates. Questions to ask: 1. What was your survey question and your answer options? 2. What kind graph did you use to collect your data?
Today, TL-M students and staff in all grades had D.E.A.R. Drop Everything And Read! It was great to see all our students and staff taking time to read uninterrupted for 15 minutes!

Students in Grades 4, 5, and 7 received Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling. This is done to celebrate reading month in March and encourage multiple grades to read the same book. Thank you to Mrs. Voth for organizing this event! Students in Grade 6 received Momentous Events in the Life of a Cactus as they had already read the book as a class last year. There are activities that Mrs. Voth will be hosting throughout the month to celebrate One-Book-One-School.
Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed a donut and reading books with your student for Reading Month! A big "thank you" to Turtle Lake Main Street Market for making all the delicious donuts and to the TL-M Family and Community Engagement team for organizing today's activity!

The TL-M music department will be having a Spring Recital on Friday at 1:50pm in the gym. This recital will consist of small group performances from students in 5th-8th grade that weren’t able to attend the McLean County Music Festival on Saturday. All parents and community members are welcome to join us!
