This week PreK learned about being safe and what to do in an emergency. We learned the importance of wearing helmets when we ride bike, wearing a seatbelt in the car, and playing safely by following rules. Today we played a game called "Should I call 911?" The students were given different scenarios, and they had to decide if it was an emergency. They had fun practicing calling 911.
Questions to ask:
What number do we call in an emergency? 911
Who will come to help if I call 911? Firemen, police officers, or the ambulance
What do I wear to stay safe riding bike? Helmet
What do I wear to stay safe in the car? A seatbelt

Questions to ask these students: What was the process of mummification? What is usually included in an obituary? Which Pharaoh was your favorite?

Today, the Sophomore English class went to the Heart of America Library in Rugby to visit the Americans and the Holocaust exhibit. This is a traveling exhibit from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. which gave students a new perspective on how the US was affected by Nazi propaganda, antisemitism and racial biases, and WWII. Questions to ask: What was one new thing you learned today? What new information made the biggest impact on you? What other questions do you have now that you would like to get answers to after visiting the exhibit?

Last night juniors and seniors participated in the annual TL-M Dollars for Scholars phone-a-thon. We are so grateful for our amazing community and the support that was shown. Thanks to the generous support of community and family members alike, our students were able to surpass their goal! Your generosity makes it possible for our chapter to fund scholarships for our students pursuing postsecondary training after high school and is so very appreciated!

Yesterday, Prek-3rd grade had a special guest. Caitlin Wacker, a dental hygienist from Northland, came to educate our students on dental care! They could look at teeth, discuss how cavities form, and more. They watched a demonstration on plague and were able to brush and floss fake teeth! Thank you, Caitlin and Northland!
