Complete the attached form if your daughter is interested in doing camp this summer. No payment is due at this time. Forms are being collected to access interest. A boys camp is a possibility also, so feel free turn in a form or let the school office know if your son is wanting to attend camp.

Today the 6th grade presented their weather forecasts. They have been studying the weather in Science. Questions to ask these students: what kind of weather would be caused by a drop in air pressure? Why does weather change along a front?





Today in FACS, the 7th graders learned the importance of soap. Students were split into 3 groups after covering their hands in cinnamon and cooking oil. Group one washed their hands in cold water without soap, group two washed their hands in warm water without soap, and group three washed their hands with warm water and soap. Some questions to ask these students are: Which method worked the best to remove the cinnamon and cooking oil? How long should you wash your hands? What temperature water should you use for washing your hands?



The 7th grade Life Science students are learning about the structure of DNA and made a model of the DNA double helix using candy. Some questions to ask them about this project are:
What are the names of the nucleotide bases? What bases pair together?





The TLM Freshman Class is doing a Valentine's Day Fundraiser. Order treats for your children or friends by Thursday, February 10. Treats will be delivered on Valentine's Day, Monday, February 14.

Ms. Priscila Iakel Garcia receives flower and candy bouquets from TL-M Public School teachers, staff, and admin in appreciation of her time with us. Good luck in your new venture!

Third-grade students celebrated their "last day" with Mrs. Christensen, who has been taking the helm in that classroom while Mrs. Anderson completed her student teaching. Each student wrote and presented a note of appreciation to Mrs. Christensen today (Mrs. Christensen assured students she still will be around our school from time to time!).

Charlie Sparrow, Jackson Blotter, and Zella Anderson competed in the McLean County Spelling Bee today in Washburn. Although we didn't advance to the state meet, it was a great learning experience as our students were exposed to a lot of difficult words like duckett (a ticket or pass), karakoa (Philippine lashed-lug plank boat), and allee (a walkway lined with trees or tall shrubs)!

Yesterday and today in FACS class, eighth graders completed "The Great Ingredient Function Experiment." Students made four variations of chocolate chip recipes. We have a couple of questions to ask your students: What recipe variations did you make? How did the variations change your cookies? And, of course: Will you make me some?

The students in our Agricultural Mechanics class started working on small engines today! Questions to ask them are: What are the four strokes of an engine? How does the engine generate electricity for the spark plug?


The Central McLean Cougar Co-op is looking for an Assistant Baseball Coach and TWO Junior High Track Coaches. Individuals must be highly motivated, organized, possess good communication skills, understand and be able to teach the skills needed for the sports, promote and build quality teamwork, and able to work with all types of people. Pay is based on the CMC activity pay scale for coaching.
