Mrs. Cullum’s Geometry class is working on Right Triangle Trigonometry Posters for the classroom to help them understand and remember the formulas. Questions to ask these students: What are the 3 main trig ratios and can you define them? Describe the hypotenuse of a Right Triangle. State the Pythagorean Theorem.



Washburn Lions Club Carnival - Saturday, March 12 from 3-6PM
Turtle Lake Mercer students and their families are invited to the Washburn Lions Club Carnival in Washburn this Saturday. There will be kid games, bingo, ham raffle and food from 3-6 PM at the Washburn Memorial Building.

Today our TL-M teachers and administrators met in their Cross Pollinated groups to update each other on the progress of our school-wide goals! Our four teams are: Family and Community Engagement, School Culture and Climate, Data Literacy, and Academic Instructional Practices. Great things are happening at TL-M!



Congratulations to Amy Klain!
Amy was awarded the Class B Honorable Mention Academic Allstate Award from the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals.
One hundred ninety-six high school seniors were nominated by their school principal and compete for the honor on a state-wide basis in both Class A and Class B divisions. Student selection is based on overall grade-point averages, ACT or SAT test scores, extracurricular activities, community involvement and leadership qualities.

The Book Fair is here and that means another fun Guessing Jar! Thank you, Mrs. Voth!!


This Thursday - Donuts and Adults: 8:00-8:30am!
Students are invited to bring an adult before school to read in the lobby area, have a donut, and check out the book fair.

2nd grade has been reading Dr. Seuss books and working with solids and liquids.. what better way to learn about BOTH than making oobleck!? First we listened to the story Bartholomew and the Oobleck, then we made oobleck and talked about its properties. Questions you can ask your student:
1. Is oobleck a solid or a liquid?
2. What makes oobleck change from a solid to a liquid?




6th grade competed in a relay game in Phy Ed, to win they need to be the first team to get the cards to spell out FAST and then tell Ms. Kramer what FAST means.
Questions to ask your students: Why do we act FAST when we suspect someone is having a stroke? What does the acronym FAST stand for in helping to determine if someone is having a stroke?





Kindergarten has been working on their teen numbers by using groups of tens and ones! We did a write the room, geo boards using teen numbers and ten frames, and link and learn with teen numbers!
Some questions to ask are :

A group of 10 and 2 more is?

Today the kindergarten class had a counseling lesson on mindfulness! They rotated through five different stations where they got to use their five senses to mindfully play with a variety of objects. Some questions to ask your students about mindfulness are:
1) What are your five senses?
2) How do we use our senses to be mindful of the things around us?
3) What words did you use to describe play-doh?
