Kindergarten has been working on numbers 0-5 . We have used vocabulary like more than, less than, equal to. We have also been introducing different ways to show our numbers like 10 frames, dice, fingers, dominos, and tally marks!

Today in Mrs. Slavik’s class the third graders talked about what it means to be a bucket filler versus a bucket dipper. They participated in a bag sort activity where they had to decide if different scenarios were filling others buckets or dipping into others buckets. After the lesson, they were given a kindness BINGO challenge so they can practice their bucket filling skills! Questions to ask your students include:
1: What does it mean to be a bucket filler?
2: What does it mean to be a bucket dipper?
3: Why is it important to be kind?

The 7th Graders in Mrs. Buchholz’s FACS class have been learning about child development and babysitting. After learning about the ages and stages of children, they worked with a partner to create an original game or toy. Some questions to ask them would be: What is your game or toy? What age group is your game or toy for? How much would you sell your game or toy for?

The 2022 Central Mclean Cougars Homecoming Parade will be in Turtle Lake on September 30 at 1:00. Community organizations are invited to place a float in the parade. Parade lineup will be at 12:45 in the student parking lot. Contact Mr. Ziebarth with any questions.

REMINDER: Flu shots will be given at our school on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, beginning at 8:00 am.
This year you can register by paper or online at www.fdhu.org. Consents will be accepted up to the day of shots. However, we encourage staff and parents to have either online or paper consents completed by this Friday, September 23rd.

Today in 3rd grade, they worked with partners to “act out” their vocabulary words! Each team was assigned a word and then worked together to come up with actions and words for their word. They wrote what they thought the word was on their white boards. This was a fun way to add some context and real life situations to their vocabulary words. See if your students can define the words: Practicing, tumbled, classmate, pronounce, scared, contribute, community, admires.

Ms. Brossart’s 6th graders have been busy working on Order of Operations in math. Some questions to ask these students are:

Mrs. Cullum’s Geometry students engaged in Geometry activities involving Angle Pairs.
