The 8th grade Earth Science class just finished their solar system unit project. They presented information about their planets and made models of them. Some questions you can ask the 8th graders are:
1. How many Earth years does it take your planet to revolve around the Sun?
2. What is your planet made out of?

Freshmen English did a Give One Get One activity in English after reading the short novel, "The Call of the Wild". They were sharing their ideas on the characters' survival skills in the book. Questions to ask your student:
1) Who was the character that had the best survival skills and why?
2) What did the author think was the best survival characteristics to have and how do you know this is how he felt?



8th grade English students made Rorshach ink blots as an activity to go along with a short story we are reading in class called, "Flowers for Algernon". Please ask your students:
1) What is an ink blot test?
2) How does it relate to the story they are reading in class?


Nature walk pictures from both geography classes. Students had to walk around Turtle Lake and write down an Absolute Location and Relative Location for each place we visited. Questions to ask your student: What is the difference between Absolute and Relative Location? How did you use Absolute and Relative Location during our walk?

Tomorrow, September 27th, is Pajama Day for homecoming! Dress in your favorite, most comfy pjs!

The 6th graders went on an archaeology dig. We dug for artifacts in a M&M cookie! When you see these students ask them: What is archaeology and artifacts? What does it me to excavate? How is archaeology and paleontology different?

Tomorrow is formal day for students and staff at TL-M, dress your best! Coronation will take place at 2:30 in the gym! Good luck to our homecoming candidates!!

8th Grade Math Students using “Precision Partnering” to interpret continuous graphs and discrete graphs. The students then presented their findings to the class. Questions to ask your students: What is the difference between a continuous graph and a discrete graph? In a continuous graph what does a horizontal line represent?



PreK has started learning the letters of the alphabet. This week they read a story called The Big Box an ABC Book. In the story, some kids get a big box and go through a bunch of different ideas of what they could make with the box. One idea for each letter of the alphabet! Today PreK found a big box and came up with their own ideas. They voted and decided to make a cave! Questions to ask: What other things could you make from a box? What letter does cave start with?




8th grade volleyball tournament in Wilton this Saturday, September 24th. Good luck, Cougars!


Thank you to Mrs. Voth, Mrs. Laib, Vivian Schlafmann, and the Pep Club for your work on the new CMC signs here at the school! Mrs. Voth received funds from Turtle Lake American Legion and Washburn American Legion to purchase fence decorations.
We are currently raising funds to add a Trojans fence sign on the opposite side of the playground. If you would like to contribute, please reach out to Mrs. Voth.


Homecoming Coronation is on September 26 at 2:30 in the Turtle Lake-Mercer Gymnasium. Public are welcome to attend.
