The Life Science students have been learning about biodiversity and biomes around the world. Their assignment was to create a 'biorama' of a biome of their choice, followed by a gallery walk to grade each other's biomes with rubrics. Some questions to ask your student are:
1. What biome did you choose and where is it located in the world?
2. What does biodiversity mean and why is it important?
It's the most wonderful time of the year!
We are encouraging all staff and students to help create a festive environment by dressing up in Christmas gear or Christmas colors on Fridays in December. Tomorrow, Friday December 1st, is National Grinch Day. We look forward to seeing everyone's holiday outfits.
Mrs. Cullum's senior Occupational Math class's Occupation for the day was "Chefs and Cooks". They went to the kitchen to observe Chef Deb and Sous Chef Rhonda. They helped them and asked them how they use math in their occupation. Questions to ask: What training is required? What math courses are required? How do chefs and cooks use math?
Mr. Vasbinder's 7th graders researched and presented activities to "fight boredom during a long trip to Mars". Questions to ask your student are: What was your topic? What did you learn about giving presentations?
We received a great card thanking our some of our students for helping out with the Hospital Supper. The students helped with multiple jobs including servers, greeters, helping carry heavy roasters, and clean up. All the adults that worked with them were very impressed. We are very proud of these students for representing TL-M School well. Make IT Count!
Good evening TL-M families! We hope you all enjoyed the Thanksgiving break! While we don't have any snow on the ground; temperatures are still cold and require winter weather apparel! Today we had Vision Zero at the school to present to the 8th - 12th graders. Questions to ask these students: How many points do you have with a GDL (graduated drivers license)? How many points can you lose for using your phone, running a stop sign, or speeding? What simulations did you participate in? What do you consider lethal?

Today Mrs. Schumann's 6th graders went to Main Street Market. As part of our Thanksgiving Dinner project, we had surprise guests and had to get more items. Students priced out items and calculated prices to stay in budget. Thank you, Main Street Market!

They looked at area grocery store ads to help with pricing. Questions for these students: How many people did you invite to your Thanksgiving? Why is it important to read food labels for serving size? What are some effects if you don’t buy enough food for your Thanksgiving dinner?

Mrs. Freeman's 2nd grade made their own Macy’s Day balloons for art and had their own parade too! Questions to ask your student: 1. Where does the Macy’s Day Parade happen and on what day? 2. What balloon did you make?
Mrs. Laib's sophomores are doing some partner writing today, answering the question, "In Gothic literature, how does uncertainty create a sense of fear?"

2) What were some examples of Gothic lit that we've read?
3) Where did the Baltimore Ravens get their name from?
Mrs. Laib's Study Skills class is practicing how to take outline notes on their science information. Things to ask:
1) What is their science lesson about?
2) How do you use an outline to take notes?
