
Kindergarten and the Freshman got to carve pumpkins today. They also measured how tall and how round they were. They counted the seeds and learned how to estimate! Questions to ask:
1. How many seeds did your pumpkin have?
2. Did your pumpkin float?

10 sixth graders and Mrs. Wyman attended the annual “Surround the State in Song” festival in Bismarck today. “Surround The State In Song” is a festival that happens at seven North Dakota locations all on the same day with involvement from area schools. The students rehearsed songs and practiced all day, ending with a concert for the public.





Yesterday the 6th grade class went to all the elementary classrooms and sang a song for them. They have been working on a choir unit during music to prep the for Junior High and learned four 2-part choir songs.
Questions to ask your student: Was it hard to learn choir music? Were you nervous to perform and why? How do you stand and perform in a choir? Would you consider joining choir next year?





Today our staff highlight is Mrs. Bridget Willis. Bridget is starting her 2nd year as a paraprofessional at TL-M. This summer she went on a vacation to Itasca State Park in MN. Her family also rode horse, fished, and swam. This year she is looking forward to growing relationships with both students and teachers and watching the students grow over the year! This year she is going to "Make IT Count" by showing up and giving it her all every day. Thank you, Bridget, for being part of our TL-M team. We appreciate you!!


For the first two weeks of October Mrs. Anderson's PreK students have been learning about Fire safety 🔥 in PreK. They even had a visit from a real firefighter. Thanks Mr. Z! Questions to ask:
What do firefighters wear to protect themselves?
What should you do if your clothes catch fire?
What should kids do around hot stoves and camp fires?
What should you do if you find matches or a lighter?




Today our staff highlight of the day is Mrs. Lana Clyde! Mrs. Clyde is our Speech/Language Pathologist and is in her 2nd year at TL-M. This summer she spent time with her family at the lake. She attended the Kenny Chesney concert in Grand Forks and Pink concert in Fargo. She's also been teaching her daughter how to drive! This year she is looking forward to working with all her students from last year, and getting to know them better. She is going to "Make IT Count" by keeping the kids motivated by having fun in speech, and making the most out of each session. Thank you, Mrs. Clyde, for being part of our TL-M team! We appreciate all you do!!!


Today our staff highlight is Mrs. Leah Anderson! Mrs. Anderson is our 5th grade teacher and has been at TL-M for 3 years! This summer she did a lot of camping and spent time TL with her kids and grandkids. She traveled to Denver to see her mom and sisters, she also spent time in Gillette, Wyoming with her oldest daughter and family. She also shared that she was very intentional about making healthy lifestyle changes by incorporating exercise and nutrition into her day. This year she is looking forward to fine tuning her ELA instruction and working with Mrs. Lelm as part of the 4th/5th grade team. She is looking forward to making ELA fun and instill a true joy of reading in her students. This year she is going to "Make IT Count" by making sure students feel safe and heard in her classroom. She shared "I will teach them respect by giving it and remind my students to always do the next right thing". Thank you, Mrs. Anderson, for being part of our TL-M team. We appreciate you!!!

Today's staff member highlight is Mr. Alex Quintane! Mr. Quintane is our 7-12 social studies teacher, this is his 4th year at TL-M. This summer Mr. Q graduated with his Master's Degree in Sociology from the University of Alabama Birmingham. This year he is looking forward to working with our wonderful students and staff. Mrs. Freeman's 2nd grade has been learning about plants and insects in science. Today they had a beekeeper come show them an observation hive, they got to try on a bee suit, and had many questions answered about bees. Questions to ask your student: 1. What does a queen bee look like? 2. What really is honey? 3. Why do bees have stripes on them?










Our staff highlight of the day is Miss Hannah Butler! Hannah has been a paraprofessional at TL-M for 5 years! This summer she went to visit her family in Texas. She also spent the summer taking college classes towards her Elementary Education degree. This school year she is looking forward to motivating her kids to learn and be independent. She is going to "Make IT Count" by pushing her students to the best of their ability and getting to know the students more. Thank you, Miss Butler, for being a part of our TL-M team. Fall is officially here and colder weather came today. Please remember to help prepare students for outside recess with proper clothing. Elementary students are reminded that they should not be wearing shorts to school when it is cold out. The recess weather guidelines that are followed are attached.



Today's staff highlight is Mrs. Linda Lambert! Mrs. Lambert is our Special Education Strategist and is starting her 2nd year at TL-M. This summer her family went to Utah and visited Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. They enjoyed hiking and swimming! This year she is looking forward to gaining more knowledge of special education and getting to know more students. She is going to "Make IT Count" by being present and available for students to come to the resource room for help and work in a positive and collaborative manner.
