Algebra II Multiplying Polynomials Activity: Students built a scale model of a toy box which represented an uncovered rectangular prism. Students developed a polynomial function equation to represent the volume of a rectangular prism when the height was unknown. They evaluated the polynomial function with different guesses of height values to determine the height that maximizes the volume. They then reviewed the metric system and measured for their scale model using a metric ruler. Questions to ask these students: 55.5 centimeters is how many millimeters? How many terms does a trinomial have? What height value maximized the volume?
