The FACS 7 class had their first lab today, half of the class was in lab making yogurt parfaits and the other half was working on their sock monkey projects. Tomorrow, they will flip flop and the other half will cook and the half that cooked will sew. Some questions to ask these students are:
-What were the steps to this lab?
-What we’re the ingredients used in lab?
-What stitch are you using on your sock monkey?
-What color sock, felt, and thread are you using?
The 7th grade Life Science students completed their Cell Cities using chalk markers on the lab tables. Each business/building represented an organelle in a cell. The students ended this project with a gallery walk to compare other groups' cities with their own. Some questions you can ask your student:
-What building represents the nucleus and why?
- What are some differences between a plant cell and an animal cell?
- How is the Golgi apparatus similar to a post office?
2nd grade is starting to learn cursive handwriting. Questions to ask your student: 1. How should your paper be placed on your desk while writing?
2. What is one important reason we learn cursive?

K-3 grade celebrated Thanksgiving by making Turkey Glyphs, watching Charlie Browns Thanksgiving, and eating a Charlie Brown Feast!
Our TL-M students are so thoughtful! Each morning you can find numerous kids waiting to hold the door for their peers, even on the coldest days they will wait to hold the door. Thankful for a school where these acts of kindness are the norm.
The 6th Grade Class has been learning about planning and budgeting a Thanksgiving dinner. They created a guest list and planned how much of each item they need to serve. They put together a grocery list and used flyers from area stores to calculate the cost. On Monday they went to Main Street Market to price out some late minute items. Things to ask these students: Why is it important start planning the meal early? How large of a turkey is needed for 8 people?
Kindergarten made stone soup today!
They talked about folklore, kindness, prediction, and we also did a gallery walk to see the different parts of the story!
Turtle Lake-Mercer School will host a Snowball Dance on December 10th from 9:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
The 7-12 grade students are invited to attend and Underwood High School and McClusky High School students have been invited as well.
Save the date! The TL-M Family Dance will be held on Saturday, December 10th from 7:00 - 8:30. This event is for our Turtle Lake - Mercer PreK - 6th grade families and any younger siblings to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

Good morning TL-M families! I’ve been out checking roads (highway and gravel) across our district and visibility is good at this time. There is very little drifting and where there are drifts they are passable.
We will be running on-time today. Please use caution when traveling and give yourself time to get where you are heading.
With all of the planning that goes into a weather-related decision, we are not always “right” for the entire district. Due to our large district, each bus driver can stop his/her route for unsafe conditions and each family can make the decision whether or not they want to send their children to school.

Third grade has been working hard on their times tables! They have all mastered 2s and they are spread out pretty evenly in 3s and 4s. One student is up to 7s 🙌🏻. Today they used PlayDoh to create arrays that represent the facts they are working hard to surpass! The best news is, regardless of whether they “move on”, every one of them improves daily!! Mrs. Anderson is VERY
proud of their hard work!
National Recognition Products visited TL-M School today. They met with the sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The seniors picked out caps and gowns for graduation ceremonies. The group was also presented with information about class rings and letterman jackets. Students that are interested took home information packets for ordering.
