Christmas Cornhole for the 7th-12th graders today!
Today the PreK - 6th grade got to watch the movie Leo in the gym, wear their favorite pjs, and enjoy popcorn from special Christmas popcorn boxes!
Mrs. Christensen's Pre-K had a day full of reindeer games. They made headbands, played ‘pin the nose on the reindeer’, and practiced smaller and bigger with dice. You can play at home! Two people take turns roll ing a die to find out whose number is bigger and whose is smaller.
Over the past couple of days, 8th grade FACS has competed in a chili cook off competition. They started by finding recipes to use, shopping for their groceries, made their chili, and were judged on who had the best chili. A couple of questions for these students are: What was your chili recipe? Who won? What chili did you like the best?
Mrs. Freeman's 2nd graders had a special pilot on their flight today! Jay Schlafmann came and flew their plane! He answered many of our pilot questions and even gave us a pin! ✈️
This Wednesday is Pajama Day!! Wear your favorite pjs or Christmas pjs to school!! Just a reminder that school dismisses at 1:00 on Thursday.
Mrs. Volochenko's Kindergarten and Mrs. Philbrick's 9th grade classes made gingerbread houses today! Some questions to ask

Today, the 5th grade created a "Be The Light" tree with Mrs. Slavik. Students put a variety of sayings on light bulbs to help the whole school find their motivation to finish out the school year strong! Questions to ask your students:

Today Ms. Gould's 3rd grade took the opportunity to spread Christmas cheer to the residents at the hospital. We read aloud books, colored, and sang Christmas songs.

Mrs. Freeman's 2nd grade has been learning about holidays around the world and traveling to many different countries in the month of December. Questions to ask your student. What do you need to get onto the plane? What is your favorite thing about the plane ride? What is your favorite place you’ve traveled to so far?
Students from Turtle Lake-Mercer Student Council attended the 2023 North Dakota State Student Council Convention December 10th through December 12th. Kyle Willkom was one of the keynote speakers and he challenged students to write a poem about leadership and submit it. Ariel Gilseth submitted a leadership poem and won Kyle's book, Action Packed Leadership!
The students in grades seven through twelve we be taking part in a Christmas Cornhole Tournament on Thursday, December 21st. If anyone has a cornhole set that they would be willing to borrow to the school for the day, please contact Mr. Ziebarth.
Mrs. Laib's Junior Class did a Character Twitter activity where they had to create tweets based on the characters in The Crucible. We also did a "mock witch trial" where many were accused of stealing a cell phone.

Our students took advantage of the sticky snow today to put some teamwork into making giant snowballs on the playground.
The C, JV, and Varsity boys' basketball games for tonight in Turtle Lake have been postponed. The make up date has not yet been determined, but will be announced once we get a date.
